1. Visiting Assistant Professor of Chinese (Bethlehem, PA)

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Lehigh University invites applications for a one-year position at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor for the academic year 2023-2024.
Qualifications
Candidates who are ABD will be considered, though a PhD in Chinese Studies or a related field should be in hand by the beginning of the fall semester. Applicants must have native or near-native fluency in Chinese and English. Those with college teaching experience are preferred.

2. Instructor of Chinese (Appleton, WI)

Lawrence University of Wisconsin, a selective undergraduate liberal arts college and conservatory of music located in Appleton, Wisconsin, invites applications for the position of Instructor of Chinese to begin September 1, 2023. This is a one-year position with the possibility of renewal.
We are seeking an individual who is a dedicated teacher passionate about working with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds in a liberal-arts setting. Candidates must have a Master’s degree; the area of specialization is open, with a preference for Linguistics. The appointment is for four or five courses over three trimesters: four Chinese-language courses including a three-course sequence at the beginning level and one advanced, third-year level course. A possible fifth course in the Introduction to Linguistics in English would be desirable.
In letters of application, candidates should discuss their experience and demonstrated excellence in teaching Chinese at a US college setting. The search committee will start reviewing all application materials on March 15, 2023 until the position is filled.

3. Lecturer (Denton, TX)

The Department of World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of North Texas is seeking a full-time Lecturer in Chinese to begin September 1, 2023 (classes begin 08/21/2023). The position of Lecturer comes with full benefits. Duties including teaching four undergraduate courses (all levels from beginning through advanced) in Chinese language, literature and/or culture per semester. Active participation in Department activities and committees is expected.
Minimum Qualifications
• MA in Chinese language, literature, or culture, or related field required.
• Native or near-native proficiency in Chinese and English.
• US college/university level teaching experience in Chinese language
Preferred Qualifications
• Evidence of excellence in teaching.
• Experience successfully teaching advanced level Chinese language, literature and/or culture courses to native English speakers at the post-secondary level.
• Experience with program coordination/supervision.
• Evidence of service commitment to department and program.
• Experience facilitating student activities such as Chinese conversation table, Chinese culture club, or Chinese film series.
